Lauren is a little more than half sister to WM Terra, now member of Delphi Alpacas' herd and bred to Avatar. Terra is a multiple blue ribbon winning girl who has thrown only superior offspring.

Lauren's dam, Kate, is a blue ribbon winner at Alpacapalooza, with the previous year's Color Champion placing 2nd to Kate. Lauren's sire is a Peruvian King Solomon son and a ribbon winner for his fleece at AOBA Nationals 2001. Kate, Terra, and Topaz have heavy fleece weights every year, and Lauren is expected to do the same!

Lauren's brother, Cary, had the finest fleece on the farm to date with 16.3 at his first shearing at 8 months. (Kallista has surpassed this since then, however Cary and Kallista share the same sire.) Katie's 20.0µ at 15 months, we felt, was impressive in 2004. Lauren's fleece is super-fine and silky. We have a lot of silky huacayas on the farm in the last few years, I think we're doing something right!

Lauren is a well conformed girl. She's very laid back and easy going, like her sire, and all of sibs from Topaz. She's very nice to have in the stall or pasture. Very friendly and sweet, and never jumpy or "kicky." She does get excited at pellet time, though!

Lauren's paternal grandsire, the late, great, Alianza sire Peruvian King Solomon, was rated "1" at import, with that designation being the best and highest priced. He was the most sought after at the sale of these first Peruvian imports. All of our King Solomon's Topaz crias are friendly, calm, and a pleasure to have in our herd. He is now sold, and I miss him. He was one of the easiest to handle boys we've ever had!

Lauren is bred to Scirocco (my Avatar star). She won't be for sale for the forseeable future. I just really love her!
