awards: 4th place Heart of the Valley 2008, halter. Judge David Barboza. She was in a tough class (aren't they all!). And she didn't come in last!

2nd EVAA Fleece Show 2008. Judge Amy Bliss-Miller. 1st place went to a fleece with a whole pound greater weight, from a Derwydd Inti-Sapa son. Small show but tough class of 7! She did place ahead of sons of some big name sires! According to the 2009 color class rules, she would have taken the 1st place since light fawns are now combined with beige!

3rd CABA Classic 2009, fleece.

service sire: Emerald Farms El Salvador Cloud owned by my good friends at Silver Spoon Alpacas. I have a mind to take Kallista off my sales list until next year.
due date:  July 2010.

Greek for "most beautiful one", Kallista is also the name of a daughter of Triton. Is it just because she's mine, or is that the prettiest face you've ever seen? And yes, she does always smile!

Her fleece looks even more amazing in person. Zipper crimp, very uniform from topline to belly, neck to tail, extending down front and back legs and up her neck. Of course the crimp does loosen up a bit as we move into the belly and edges, as is expected, but even this edge fiber is free of guard hair and can be included in the prime fleece when processing. She does show some guard hair on her apron as you'd see on a vicuña, but it is extremely fine and silky.

All of her siblings out of Hoyln are outstanding, as are her sibs from Maximus. Her grandsire is Silas of Bolivia, she's got that typical "winning" Silas crimp. You should see the silky luster! She's got black toenails, eyeliner, and gums, and dark skin, she's likely to throw blacks for your dark breeding program. With a black dam and grand-dam, chances are good. I've seen this called "Stealth Black" by some well known figures in the industry.

Here's an interesting fact: Kallista's dark maroon sister Amelia Braveheart (Hoyln x Silas) is THE foundation dam at Delphi Alpacas, dam of Delphi's Devamani and Delphi's Ava, both Color Champions out of Avatar. Add to those genetics Wiki Wiki and Welcome Stranger, you have Kallista.

Half sister via Gypsy's Maximus, Twyla Belle, placed 4th at her first halter show just like Kallista did, and she recently placed 1st and Color Champ at ABR Fall Fest 2008. She also placed 1st for fleece at AOBA Nationals, 2009.

Kallista's brother Scirocco, Avatar son, is a multiple blue ribbon winner. Sister Hillary out of Penumbra is a blue ribbon winner @ GWAS halter.

Do you see the trend? All of Kallista's siblings are superior, Kallista is as well. She'll produce well improved crias for you for years to come.

Sibs' fleece stats:
Scirocco 1st yr 16.6, 2nd yr 20.2, 4 yr 20.8, 5 yr 20.7! DRG
Cary Grant 16.3 MF
Millie 17.7 MF
Antares 2nd yr 19.4 WH
Sorrel 2nd yr 21.8 DB
Kallista's 3/4 sister Amelia was never for sale and has proven to be priceless! Ask Linda Bat what she estimates Amelia's value to be! Seriously. And ask her about 1/2 sister Twyla Belle while you're at it! You can have those same powerful genetics in your herd with Kallista!

Two breedings are included with Kallista's purchase. The first is to Emerald Farms El Salvador Cloud owned by my good friends at Silver Spoon Alpacas. Her second free breeding will be to any herdsire listed on my Herdsires page.

I lost my mind and offered at an insanely low price recently. Then I did some price comparisons on girls of her quality, searching for similar show placings and fleece fineness. Her current price is still far lower than most girls of her quality. Most have never been shown and few have fiber analyses posted. Two half sisters are currently for sale priced at $27,000 and $35,000. Her 3/4 sister is a mother of multiple champions.

If elite fleece is important to your breeding program, Kallista is a sound choice.

She's still a maiden!
